Tidbit Tuesday

This week I’ve been thinking a lot about the special needs bags for the IM. I stole 9 million posts online about what other Ironmen athletes pack in their bags and I think I’m narrowing it down.

(Special needs bags are available in addition to your usual transition bags but are for half way through the bike portion so at mile 56 and half way through the run portion so at mile 13.1. These bags are supposed to help you survive the 17 hour race and carry you through the 140.6 miles.)

The bags total five, your morning gear bag (what you wear/need in the morning but don’t want to toss), your bike bag (whatever you plan to change out of your wetsuit and in to your biking gear), your run bag (again, to change out of your biking gear and into your running gear), and the two above mentioned special needs bags.

This is super stressing me out! All these bags, 17 hours, 140.6 miles!!!! Ekkkkkk!!
