Well with the first marathon of the year approaching in ten weeks and the CDA full Ironman being only twenty-eight weeks away, it’s officially time to kick things in high gear. Time to increase the intensity of each workout and to focus on what the goal of each workout is, as opposed to just getting the miles/hours in.
I have always used the Hal Higdon’s Marathon training plan, and while it has always gotten me to the finish line, I think that I would see some improvement in speed if I went another direction. I have been looking at the Furman Institute of Running’s FIRST training program.
