Rolling Hills Half Marathon

Last Sunday, Amber and I ran the Rolling Hills Half Marathon. This was a super difficult course, but extremely well organized and fun!

Gear/Fuel
-My new Ogio X-Train bag, in love with this bag

Honey Stinger Waffle (prior to the race)

Honey Stinger Gel (halfway)

Mizuno Wave Rider 18s

Mizuno Featherweight 3/4 tights

Mizuno Cirrus Tee

-Mizuno Drylite Thermo 1/2 Zip

-North Face Headband

-Gloves

-Drymax Hyper Thin Mini Socks

-My ipod and earbuds

-My Garmin Fenix 3

Volunteers/Fluids/Spectators

This could not be better, there were volunteers at every single mile marker. This race could have felt very lonely, so having volunteers the entire way, encouraging you, was great. They had water, Gatorade and restrooms throughout the course, perfection. Lots of pictures posted to their site afterward too. And the medal was huge!!!!

The Actual Race
Chilly and very windy. Felt like you ran up a giant mountain, ran down the backside, then around the base of it and did it again. It was very steep. But it made the race super fun.

I’d do it again!
