What a fun race!!!
Packet pickup is the day before at the expo, the pickup was organized with tons of volunteers and right down by the Space Needle. The expo was small considering how large the race was. But the chocolate dipped marshmallow made it worthwhile. Plus a jacket??? What? Awesome.
Plus, being in Seattle with the family was terrific.
Tons of volunteers! Snacks every three miles, including strawberry marshmallows and tootsie rolls!!! Water stations and Gatorade well manned and frequent. Very, very few spectators, a few fraternities and sororities. Zero entertainment. But awesome post race, with cup with cocoa, fondue, and snacks!!! Woo hoo!
The Actual Race
We stayed two miles from the starting line, so we walked to the beginning… In hindsight, well after walking back after the race, it was shitty… It was corralled so the start went well. It was hilly! Like surprising number of gradual hills thoughout the race but no crazy steep hills. It was perfect temp out, it was fun and we had a great time. Fun Race!!
